Cil Evangelista is a Filipino short-story writer, novelist, columnist and illustrator.

Biography

Prencilio "Cil" Evangelista was born on July 9, 1939.
He started out as an illustrator for short stories for Bulaklak Publications & Miranda Publications.
Layout artist for Student Canteen. Editor for Cinderella Komiks published by Rene Victoria and Screen Komiks Publications of CRS.

In 1960, he was hired by Benipayo Press as editor for Literary Song Movie Comics. As an editor he published two comics: Popular Klasiks and The New Vista Komiks.

Later on he started working on short stories novels which he produced hundreds of them. Some of his works even made it to the silver screen.

In 1969 he decided to run his own publishing company which he named TOP Publications and produced his very own magazine.

Top Magazine contains articles from show business fashion, models, and politics. Some of the cover models was Susan Roses, Amalia Fuentes, and Josephine Estrada. Photos by Mang Ador from Tropicana Studios in Malabon City.
Another magazine he was known for was really Decent Bomba Magazine (Disente ang dibuho, may aral ang mga kwento) which contains explicit materials. All covers were illustrated by top artist like Nestor Infante, Lan Medina, Nestor Leonides, Joel Magpayo, Danny Tolentino, Danny Taberna, Vic Geronimo, Rudy Arubang, Tanchie Mendoza, Elexer Tubiera, Rene Delosantos, Elmo Doque, Mar Sta. Ana, Cesar Hamto, Cesar Gaupo, Nar Castro, Ruben Yandok.

Top Magazine and Martial Law.
During the Martial law, a lot of establishments had been ordered to shut down by the government, including the Top Publications.
During that time Soller publications took Cil as an Editor of Romantic and WOW Komiks.
He also did some novels- Basta Driver, Sweet Lover, Gutom Na Ang Mga Daga, Vambibat, Cobranika, Ahastra, and others including short stories.

In 1985, Cil Evangelista opened another Publication firm. CILEVAN PUBLISHING.
There, he did sorts of magazines GAME, SIR, LOVER, EROTIKA etc.

In 1989 he stopped publishing the said magazines and a new line called GAME SPORT Magazing, which he features basketball stars in the country. Not long after the publishing of GAME SPORT he had to close it down and did a few different sorts of pocket books and political magazines.

Up to this date, Cil Evangelista still active doing large-scale printing for books, magazines, campaign paraphernalia etc.
